About

When I was 12 I was given my first camera. Over the next 40 years the cameras changed but the quality of the pictures didn't. The images were poorly composed, out of focus with wonky horizons. Something needed to change and so I enrolled on a City and Guilds course.

Over 2 years I learnt how to use the camera controls and settings. I learnt what good composition looked like and how to use light and dark to its best advantage. We developed film and printed in the dark room.

I then went on a number of workshops to put their knowledge into practice.

I am mainly a landscape and travel photographer but this includes urban settings as well as wildlife.

I have used Nikon cameras since my first film DSLR in the early 1980s but have journeyed through medium and large format film cameras to my current film and mirrorless Nikons.
